About The Speaker

Chiraz Skhiri

Chiraz Skhiri is the Middle East and North Africa Program Development Manager for Sustainable Food and Renewable Energy at Hivos. Chiraz has spent extensive time studying and living in North Africa and the Middle East, including in Jordan and Syria, and has also managed operational and strategic MENA-focused work while living in Germany. Chiraz has worked for the UNRWA, the International Transport Workers Union Federation, and Fairtrade International. Prior to joining Hivos, Chiraz worked as an independent consultant focusing on socioeconomic development project evaluation for food and environmental issues in the MENA region. Chiraz obtained a master's in Arabic language and Civilisation from the Université Lumière Lyon 2 as well as a master's in Human Rights and Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Chiraz will be co-curating the TASTE track.
